Embodied Artifacts

In this project, created through the design and construction of wearable art and fine art photography, the boundary between human and object blurs. Clothing with unconventional forms pushes women towards becoming functional objects, distancing them from being subjects.
These garments, with geometric lines and strange volumes, transform the woman's body. Natural movements are restricted and individuality is covered. In these clothes, the woman becomes a living statue - beautiful but motionless.
The image of a woman standing in an elevated space, wearing a garment that distorts her shape, symbolizes woman as a decorative element. She becomes part of the scenery, an object to be viewed, not a person to interact with. In these images, the woman becomes part of a larger composition - not an independent individual.
Form and function clash in this collection.

In 2019,"Embodied Artifacts" received the "Danaye Elmi" Award from Iran Technical & Vocational Training Organization(TVTO). This project, developed for a Pattern-making and garment Construction course.
